![]() August 2000 INFORMS News Doctoral Colloquium Nominations The 2000 INFORMS Doctoral Colloquium will be held Nov. 3-4 in San Antonio, during the weekend immediately preceding the INFORMS National Meeting. All Ph.D.-granting programs in operations research and management science are invited to nominate students for participation. The primary objective of the colloquium is to promote interaction between doctoral students and professionals in operations research and management science. Approximately 20 professional participants will make presentations and lead discussions on issues and technical areas related to academic and industrial careers in OR/MS. Nominating departments are expected to pay for travel expenses and hotel accommodations. If a school has more than one student attend, it will be asked to contribute $125 for each additional student toward the cost of the program. INFORMS will pay for all administrative and meal costs associated with the colloquium and arrange for hotel accommodations for Friday and Saturday nights.
