March 23-25: DIMACS Workshop on Discrete Mathematical
Chemistry at the DIMACS Center, Rutgers University,
Piscataway, N.J. Discrete Mathematics have been used in
chemistry for well over a century. Graph theory is a tool of
choice to represent molecules, clusters or reaction paths.
Group theory is widely used for the study of molecular
symmetries. Coding theory is basic in systematizing the
enormous amount of chemical data available, in problems of
enumeration of molecules, isomers, and families having
various properties. All of these techniques are increasingly
used by industry in the rapidly-expanding fields of
Computer-Assisted Molecular Design and Combinatorial
Chemistry. For more information, contact Pierre Hansen;

April 5-9: International Simulators Conference at
the Boston Park Plaza Hotel in Boston. Sponsored by the
Society of Computer Simulation International, the conference
will feature several sessions on Computer Simulations in
Business. Additional topics of discussion will include: MIS,
operations research, decision analysis, business
statistics/resampling, cost management, production and
operations and marketing. For more information, contact Todd
A. Schultz, College of Business Administration, Augusta
State University, 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, Ga., 30904-2200;
